    How to become a Member of First Southern Baptist Church

     Persons professing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, giving evidence of a change of heart, and accepting the views of faith and practices held by this church may be received by one of the following ways by vote of the majority of the members present: 1.  As a candidate for Scriptural baptism after public profession of faith in Christ as personal Savior. 2.  Upon a promise of a letter of recommendation certifying membership in a church of like-faith and order.  (See Constitution, Article I, Section I.) 3.  Persons who make a statement to the Church that they have been scripturally baptized upon profession of faith in a church of like-faith and order, but for some reason acceptable to the Church, cannot obtain a letter of recommendation.
