Music plays a vital role in the life of First Southern Baptist Church. We seek to honor the Father in all we do. We seek to lead people into authentic worship of Almighty God. We seek to instruct in righteousness and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

There are more than 500 accounts in the Bible of songs, instrument, psalms, music and musicians. Forty-four of the sixty-six books in the Bible contain actual hymns and songs. One verse that effectively describes our work is Colossians 3:16: “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Throughout history, music has played a vital role in the life of the church. Our music ministry seeks to please the One that we praise, Jesus Christ. It is because of who He is and what He has done that we come with thankful hearts to worship through music. We are most honored to be at work with God through this ministry.

Music Ministries of FSBC

Our Adult Choir meets in room F3 on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. for rehearsals and leads worship in the 10:30 a.m. worship service. They also prepare and present seasonal musicals.

Our Children’s Choir rehearses on Sundays at 5:15 p.m. in room F3. This choir is for children in grades 2nd through 6th grade. They prepare for seasonal musicals and sing during evening worship services.

Our Preschool Choir meets on Sundays at 5:15 p.m. in room B-2, to sing praises to our Lord. This choir is for children who are ages 3-5.
